WHO WE ARE

The Golden Cavalier Foundation (GCF) was created by members of the De La Salle High School class of 1972. Initial discussions took place at the class of 1972’s 50th reunion in 2022, and the idea of creating the GCF received a high enough level of interest that it quickly became a reality. The Golden Cavalier Foundation will provide a Lasallian education to students who demonstrate academic potential and would otherwise not have the financial means to fulfill their educational goals.

We encourage all De La Salle alumni to become members of the Golden Cavalier Foundation. Members are able to work together to support the Foundation's cause, connect with their former classmates, and build a sense of community.

The Golden Cavalier Foundation is a federally qualified 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and donations received are qualified as tax deductible contributions.

MISSION + VISION

The GCF’s mission is to build an endowment that will provide at least one 5-year scholarship to an incoming 8th grade student. Eligible candidates for the scholarship are those who demonstrate academic excellence and also have a financial need.

The GCF’s vision is to give back and ensure the continuation of De La Salle’s Lasallian heritage as founded by the Christian Brothers.  De La Salle is the only Catholic co-educational, diverse high school in the New Orleans community. A Lasallian Education strives to enrich each student’s cultural, intellectual, physical, social and spiritual development.
